Ayan Ship Breakers (ASB)

In the heart of Karachi, the industrial and economic hub of Pakistan, Ayan Ship Breakers stands as a working example of how the ship-breaking industry can pair scale with sustainability. ASB, a sole proprietor entity, has been at the forefront of this sector for the past fourteen years, with an unwavering commitment to excellence and environmental responsibility.

ASB specialises in the purchase and import of expired ships, as well as the procurement of ship scrap from vendors through its subsidiary, AGRI. With four strategically located recycling and breaking plots at the Gadani ship breaking yard, ASB ensures that every dismantling process is executed meticulously, under strict Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) protection protocols.

Eight expansive warehouse facilities keep Stock Keeping Units organised and moving, enabling efficient inventory management and reliable delivery to clients. ASB also invests continuously in staff training — skilled and unskilled alike — so every team member stays current on the safety precautions ship recycling demands.

Chairman

Mr. Altaf Adam

Mr. Altaf Adam is a visionary business leader with a remarkable track record in the ship-breaking industry. He began his journey by selling scrap material recovered from decomposed vessels — a start that speaks to the entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness that would come to define ASB. Over the years, his progressive approach has set him apart in the ship-breaking world, driving significant growth and innovation.

His progressive mindset extends beyond recycling: he has also ventured into manufacturing, establishing a copper furnace plant to produce copper ingots and diversifying the business portfolio further. His leadership has built a dedicated team that continues to drive the organisation's growth today.
